When Delinquent Girls Ruled | Hana no Asuka Gumi (1988) Sukeban Series & Anime Review

A full anime review & analysis on another sukeban series where megumi odaka of Godzilla fame got her start in the industry. Kenny lauderdale (me) breaks down this insane series & reviews the 1988 show as well as the anime OVA from 1987 that was lost media until recently. This is part 2 in the Sukeban series of reviews, the first being sukeban deka which was equally insane. Kill la kill was largely influenced by series like this. More anime analysis & reviews coming up.

  1. For more videos of me mispronouncing japanese words, check out the other reviews I've done.

  2. I knew of Asuka through the old Jidol database idollica.com. (Still partially available to view via Archive.org.) I never saw it though.

  3. This is why I love your channel , it´s the only place where I can find this kind of stuff !!

The master system have a game about that yo-yo girl , it turn to be one good looking game os this console.

One thing that I miss about 80´s is the style , clothes , hair , music EVERTHING , I wish that I could lived more that time !!

  4. If you scroll through this tumblr page, there's a photo of the OVA on Japanese laserdisc. Would be nice to see a rip of this on youtube.

  5. My dad really bought into Beta back in the 80's. He still has a good machine he bought in the 90s that's lasted far longer than any of the VCRs. I've only ever used it to watch all of Star Trek up to Enterprise taped off of UPN, but the idea of anime on beta sounds too cool to me.

  6. I only saw Sukeban Deka in ADVision tapes and haven't really watched it. It's surprising that it's not the only Sukeban series out there

  7. Incidentally, In the fighting video game Tekken there's this girl called Asuka Kazama and she fights Goons and Rival Gang leaders! She wasn't introduced until Tekken 5. Also she has a rival! She's a french royalty and she listens to classical music! And she dresses pretty much white much like that porcelain doll girl!

  8. What is it about badass schoolgirls with doofy weapons that ignite our inner hype beast? Idk but man if this doesn’t make me want more of this sukeban content lmao

  9. i demand a remake of this anime, dont give me remakes of already good media like sailor moon gimmie my obscure ass anime revivals

  10. I believe that you have the responsibility to save this VHS from being lost. Upload it to someplace like bakabt so that it won't be lost forever.

  11. More vids like this please. Your vids fill a niche in the anime world that makes it a shame our community has gone without it for so long. keep it up.

  12. Hi Kenny.
I've really liked your content you've made for the past few weeks, and I was wondering if you could do a video/review on Rainbow Signal, a music video/anime featuring the vocal pop group Hi-Fi Set. I asked my friend MartyMcFlies (in which you also are friends with) how I should inform you, so a comment would work best instead of email. I've uploaded a high-quality version of the video on my alternate channel Kimi no Station, as well as included a Google Drive link.
