Amazing results as always from BAIR & Adobe, but I'm curious of how well this technique would perform against an image-to-image translation network such as a CycleGAN or StarGAN model trained with this type of data. I assume there is no guarantee that the GAN couldn't erase the proofs of manipulation while preserving the warping. Have you researched in this direction?

it's an interesting field and use case of AI. As a professional retoucher, I was wondering if this is based on looking for something I would call stretching/re-sampling artifacts and if this could detect manipulation done with re-sampled pixels that have not been warped.
How would the model be affected by for example, the natural warp of a wide angle lens at the edges of the image? This tends to warp peoples faces.
